What should I wear for my headshot?  For Women:

Choose a professional suit or business outfit that has a classic, timeless style. Trendy clothing may look outdated quickly.  Avoid anything with bold, distracting patterns or colors, unless you can layer a plain blazer or sweater over it so not much of the pattern is showing.

Cool muted colors in blue, green, brown, gray, or black work well, as does a color that matches your eyes.

Clothing with tight grids or a small herringbone pattern can have a moiré pattern effect on camera, so these should be avoided.

White is best worn under a suit jacket, cardigan, or sweater. V-necks positively accentuate the neckline, but avoid wearing something which is low or too revealing.

Business head shots tend to look better without bare arms, but if you'll be wearing a sleeveless blouse or shift dress, bring another layer maybe a blazer or sweater.

Jewelry should be something small, classic, and not very reflective. If you're not sure about what to wear, bring several choices and we can decide together.

For Men:

When choosing clothing for your professional headshot: think of a classic style. Pick your favorite suit, the one that fits you well and is preferably a dark color like navy blue or gray or black. Choose a suit that doesn't bunch up when you button it, along with a shirt and tie that compliment it.  It's always a good idea to bring an extra shirt and tie in another color.

Try to stay away from anything with bold, distracting patterns or colors. Please avoid clothing with very tight grids or small herringbone patterns that can have a moiré pattern effect on camera.  Some ties are too shiny-- stay away from really reflective, shiny, silk ties.

If you do not wear a tie, you might want to bring a light blue, buttoned down oxford shirt.  And if you wear a button-down shirt, it's best to wear a jacket or sweater of some kind to layer the look.

Please make sure we can't see your undershirt beneath the button-down shirt: wear a v-neck or no undershirt at all.

How do I book a session? How much will it cost?

To answer both questions just go to "Book a session".  Choose an option, then click on an available time slot on the calendar. You can also use the 'Contact me' page and fill out a form.  Either way I will be notified, and I will contact you. After we confirm the date and time of your session and your specific needs, I will send you an online questionnaire to fill out as well as other suggestions to prepare you for your photo session.

How many digital files will I receive and how quickly will I receive them?

Depending on the type of session you select, you will receive 8-10 high-resolution JPEG files, edited and lightly retouched within 48 hours.  They can be downloaded directly from the online website.  If you need prints, you can order them conveniently online from the website and have them mailed directly to you.
